Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin condition that causes rapid growth and accumulation of skin cells, resulting in thick, silvery scales and itchy, dry patches on the affected areas. It affects about 2-3% of the world's population and can occur at any age, although it is most commonly diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 35.

There are several types of psoriasis, including plaque psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, inverse psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, and erythrodermic psoriasis. Each type has its own unique symptoms and characteristics.

Despite the fact that there is currently no cure for psoriasis, there are several treatments available that can help to control or alleviate its symptoms. These treatments include topical creams and ointments, light therapy, systemic medications, and biologic drugs.

It is important to consult a dermatologist if you suspect that you may have psoriasis or are experiencing any symptoms, as early diagnosis and prompt treatment can help to prevent potential complications and improve quality of life.
